AMMO Gelee Pro Wheel & Metal Coat FAQ

Q: How long does Gelee Pro take to cure?

A: 30 secs to 2 minutes. For the inside of the wheel barrel, if applied smooth, can be left on the wheel and not removed for a thicker layer. If you see streaks during application, they will be there when it cures, so apply it smoothly if you choose to use this advanced technique.

Q: Is Gelee Pro safe on all types of wheels including matte finishes?

A: Yes, assuming the finish of the wheel has been painted professionally by a manufacturer.

Q: Can Gelee Pro be used on paint?

A: It is not designed for paint usage because it contains 5X the amount of "solids" compared to Reflex Pro. This product is stronger, yet less flexible which may cause paint application to crack during paint flex.

Q: How do I prep wheels/metal trim for Gelee Pro application?

A: A standard wheel and tire wash is ideal. Plum, Brute, wheel-woolies, wash mit, wheel brush etc... Make sure the wheel is clean and extremely dry. Use compressed air, master-blaster or go for a quick drive around the block. If you remove the wheel from the car, clay maybe helpful on the backside of the rim.

Q: Can I still use applicator pads/towels after applying Gelee Pro?

A: Applicators No. Microfiber towels...Yes, if wash within the first hour or so after application. You can throw them in a sink with water if you cannot get to a washing machine quickly.

Q: How should I maintain my wheels after coating with Gelee Pro?

A: After cleaning with the Wheel Regimen Kit, use AMMO Reflex Pro Top Coat to maintain the coating finish on the wheels.

Coating is great, provided applicator was horrible.

Ammo NYC's products are awesome and love everything I've bought so far. Like the other products Gelee Pro did not disappoint. I applied it on brand new wheels with no tires, so the process was simple. Placed each wheel on a rolling wheel stand, Applied coating on the outside then buffed after a few mins. For the inner barrel I applied it as instructed w/out needing to buff so it got a slightly thicker layer.

My biggest gripe is I should have tried to "de-shed" the applicator that came with it, not sure if I had a bad applicator. But every time I applied coating pieces of the applicator would come off and get stuck on the wheels, I was constantly picking them off. It was soooo frustrating, because I'd have to go over it again, to make sure the coating was level. By the beginning of third wheel I gave up and switched applicators from another brand, did not have any issues after that. I let them cure over night, applied another light coating on the outside, buffed and let it cure over night again. (Did not need to apply a second coating on the inner part of the wheels) Wheels looks awesome and smooth to the touch. Looking forward to seeing on the car with new tires.

Like in his video's make sure you wear gloves and some type of respirator (I did). The chemical smell is very strong. I did them indoors, windows, door open for ventilation. Prep the wheels before hand and then apply the coating. Take your time and make sure the coverage is even and have plenty of lighting so you can look at the them from all angles. Apply the coating in segments so you can track and buff where you applied.

Overall fantastic product and highly recommend. Then again all of Larry's products are fantastic.

Great Product!

Instant gratification! You simply apply, let sit for a few seconds, see a little rainbow and wipe away. That simple. Make sure you apply outdoors or in a well ventilated area as it has a strong smell.

Product is great!

The product is great, and I love the protection it provides. However, it isn't as forgiving as Reflex, and I do have a spot on my bumper that is a "forever rainbow." This is completely my fault for covering too much area too fast. With that said, to provide feedback, for version 2.0 I would like to see if you can extend the working time a little bit more.

A lot less cleaning

I have a set of 12 hole wheels on one of my cars. That means cleaning 48 holes every time. Now it's hose down and wipe off.
